BX Christmas tree vandalized twice in one week

Norwood and Bedford residents living near a park say their holiday spirit has been snatched away from them after vandals have targeted a Christmas tree

NORWOOD - Norwood and Bedford residents living near a park say their holiday spirit has been snatched away from them after vandals have targeted a Christmas tree in the area.

The Department of Parks and Recreation says it sent a crew to fix the tree last Monday after someone damaged the electrical wiring and that less than 24 hours later, the tree had been vandalized again.

Residents say they hold an annual tree-lighting ceremony every year and that it has been a staple in their community for decades.

Local Community Board 7 is asking anyone with information on the vandalism to contact police.
