The streets of Fordham Road were packed with cars today as many residents opted to drive to work so they could sit in air conditioning while waiting in traffic.  For those without cars, many said their struggle came down to which would be cooler, the bus or the subway.

Despite the fact that Fordham Road was packed with cars, the usually busy sidewalks were quite empty today.  That's because some residents said they opted to hold off on running errands or shopping in the intense heat.

Many residents said they are trying everything they can to keep cool during this summer scorcher.Submit photos and videos of how you are beating the heat
