THE BRONX - Bronx Councilman James Vacca is among several local officials and transit advocates calling for real-time clocks along city bus routes.

The digital clocks, which have already been added to many subway stations throughout the five boroughs, would use GPS technology to give straphangers information about exactly when their next bus will roll up.

The MTA says it's already in the process of installing GPS devices on buses and that riders can get arrival times using their smartphones. However, officials argue that display clocks are needed to make it easy for people who don't have those phones.
