THE BRONX - A Bronx family is taking action after their son was shot outside his school last year.

Maurice Jones suffers from multiple sclerosis, a condition that causes him to make frequent trips to the bathroom. According to the family's lawyer, the secretary at Bronxwood Prep Academy, where Jones was a student at the time, refused to give him a key to the bathroom back on Nov. 17, forcing him to search outside school grounds.

Once leaving the building, Jones was shot in the spine and colon, leaving him paralyzed below the waist.

The lawyer has filed a claim against the city, school and the Department of Education.

As for the shooting, police say the alleged suspect is Fabian Morrison, who has since been arrested and charged with assault.
