THE BRONX - Some Bronx grandparents received a valuable lesson in emergency preparedness today.

Workers with the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) handed out pamphlets and showed the seniors how to prepare for emergencies like fires, explosions or storms.

An OEM spokesperson told the group to develop an evacuation plan, write down doctors' phone numbers, create a meeting space and pack a "go" bag with essential items like first aid kits and flashlights.

Seniors who attended the event at the Bronx Museum said the information was very useful.
