BX historian training college student as protege

THE BRONX - A Lehman College student has become the Bronx borough historian's new protege.

The historian, Lloyd Ultan, teaches a Bronx history course at Lehman College, which Angel Hernandez signed up for two years ago. When a spot opened up for an educator at the Bronx Historical Society, Ultan said he encouraged Hernandez to apply.

Hernandez says curiosity drove him to take Ultan's course in the first place, and says he is excited about his new career.
