BX parents take advantage of school supply giveaway

It's back-to-school week and many Bronx parents got some help in getting their children started on the right foot. The Chaplains Workers Federation handed out

THE BRONX - It's back-to-school week and many Bronx parents got some help in getting their children started on the right foot.

The Chaplains Workers Federation handed out free notebooks, backpacks, calculators and other school essentials at Pito's Garage on 184th Street.

Organizers included Manny Taverez, who is running against Bronx state Sen. Gustavo Rivera. He said it's important to help the next generation of Bronx residents.
