THE BRONX - New York City's Department of Education has developed a new curriculum for teachers and parents to teach students about the Sept. 11 attacks.

Created in part with the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, the curriculum follows state standards and has been created for students in kindergarten to 12th grade. The Department of Education encourages teachers to integrate the lessons into their plans for history, social studies, English and art.

The lesson plans are available for all public schools in the city, and can also be viewed by parents on the 9/11 memorial's website.

News 12 The Bronx will air a tribute special on Friday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. and will air the 10th anniversary commemoration ceremony live on Sept. 11 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
