THE BRONX - A Bronx resident is creating unique works of art.

Robinson Alston has been crafting animals out of aluminum cans for five years. The 82-year-old's living room ceiling is covered with his handcrafted works of art. The idea came to Alston after a friend pointed out a metal sculpture at a local furniture store.

Alston's 14-piece collection includes birds, sharks, prehistoric and sea animals. His latest creation, an octopus, spans 13 feet long in his hallway. The octopus has eight tentacles and took three months to complete.

Alston hopes to display his works of art in museums around the city.
