THE BRONX - Community activists are joining forces following eight separate shootings since early Saturday morning.

Police say in seven hours, 12 people were shot and two were killed in shootings they believe were unrelated.

Community activist Gloria Cruz says the only way to stop the violence is to report it.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. is promising that the culprits will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
