THE BRONX - Bronx residents are remembering an actor who made a name for himself here in the borough.

Film star Ernest Borgnine passed away Sunday at age 95. He played in more than 200 films and television roles, but is perhaps best known for his portrayal of a lovesick Bronx butcher in the film 'Marty.'

The movie was shot on Arthur Avenue in 1955 and earned Borgnine an Oscar for his performance. It also shined a spotlight on the area and the butcher shop where Borgnine's character worked, which is still bustling. Oscar-winning star Ernest Borgnine dies at 95
