BX residents show support for 'green' jobs

THE BRONX - Hundreds of Bronx residents attended a summit on 'green' jobs Wednesday organized by Bronx Borough President Rubin Diaz Jr.

Community-based organizations, labor organizations, business representatives and political leaders all participated with the hope that the summit will raise awareness about the positive effects of 'green' jobs. They also plan to create a blueprint for bringing jobs from the ?green? industry to the Bronx.

Organizers say they plan to hold a 'green' jobs fair in the fall.

Officials say the aim of the conference is to make the Bronx a leader in the energy-efficiency movement.
