BX residents trade in gold to rake in the green

THE BRONX - Jewelry store owners in The Bronx say the high price of gold is keeping them busy.

Residents across The Bronx have been cashing in their gold for cash after the price per ounce has skyrocketed. On Wednesday, gold was selling for close to $1,800 an ounce.

Jewelers say most of the gold will be melted down and made into gold blocks.  They say as the price of gold continues to climb, customers have been buying a lot less and selling much more.
