BX residents worried about looming parking-meter rate increases

With the city's final budget due at the end of the month, some Bronx residents and business are worried about a possible increase in parking-meter

THE BRONX - With the city's final budget due at the end of the month, some Bronx residents and business are worried about a possible increase in parking-meter rates.

Under the proposed plan, rates would increase to 25 cents for every 15 minutes.

Some businesses say that the increase in the rates would force some customers away because of the higher cost of parking.

A spokesman for the city says the increased revenue would help close the budget gap.
