BX school building named after two fallen firefighters

THE BRONX - A new school building on Bronxdale Avenue held a special ceremony today to honor two fallen Bronx heroes.

The building was named after Lt. Curtis Meyran and Lt. John Bellew. Both died after jumping from a fourth-floor window in 2005 during a fire in the Bronx.

The building will house three schools which officials say will be a combination of public and charter schools.
