BX teen breaks into music scene through YouTube

A Bronx teen says she's been working on her debut album as a professional singer with music producer Pharrell Williams, all thanks to her YouTube

CLASONS POINT - A Bronx teen says she's been working on her debut album as a professional singer with music producer Pharrell Williams, all thanks to her YouTube channel.

Maxine Colone, 18, says she started singing in front of her laptop and uploading her videos to YouTube two years ago. Since then, Colone's YouTube channel has been watched by more than one million viewers.

The Clasons Point native says Pharell Williams recently approached her to work on an album.  She says Williams told her he had been watching her on YouTube over the past two years.

Colone says she expects her album to be released within the next few months.
