THE BRONX - Friends and family gathered tonight to remember and say goodbye to a Bronx woman stabbed to death two weeks ago.
Police say Maxine Martinez was murdered on the morning of Dec. 16 as she was own her way to work. They say they found her body on Baychester Avenue with stab wounds to the back and neck. Her viewing was held tonight in Wakefield.
Family members say Martinez, 44, will be flown to Jamaica to be buried.
Her estranged husband, Omar Martinez, 31, has been arrested and charged with her murder and manslaughter.
