BX woman says Housing Authority is ignoring pleas for help

THE BRONX - A Bronx woman says she's had to endure deplorable conditions at the Marble Hill Houses while the New York City Housing Authority has repeatedly ignored her pleas for help.

According to Valeree Dean, she's been forced to stay with a friend and live in her car for the past several weeks after being eaten alive by bedbugs in her home. She says she is terrified to go inside due to the infestation.

Dean says other problems include cracked walls that cause flooding whenever it rains. She says she has paid her rent on time each month, but her requests to have the building fumigated have still gone unanswered.
