BX World Cup fans celebrate U.S. victory

THE BRONX - Although the World Cup is taking place thousands of miles away, that didn't stop Bronx fans from cheering for Team USA after it scored a winning goal against Algeria today, finishing the game 1-0.

More than a dozen patrons filled the Bronx Ale House on West 238th Street to watch the decisive game on eight flat-screen monitors.

Some of the soccer enthusiasts who didn't have an opportunity to make it to their local bar watched the game right on the street and later celebrated the victory that will allow the U.S. to advance into the next round.
