Commuters in Country Club are celebrating at rush hour this morning with the addition of a new bus stop, connecting the neighborhood to Westchester Square

WESTCHESTER SQUARE - Commuters in Country Club are celebrating at rush hour this morning with the addition of a new bus stop, connecting the neighborhood to Westchester Square via the Bx24 bus.

A Bx14 route connecting Country Club with the bus hub in Westchester Square had been eliminated in 2010, making things difficult for bus riders. Since then, the community has advocated for a new bus stop. In January, the MTA announced it would expand the Bx24 line.

The new stop is located at East Tremont Avenue and Lane Avenue.
