THE BRONX - Police are searching for the suspect who slashed an MTA bus driver in the arm Wednesday afternoon and fled the scene.

Authorities say the 52-year-old driver had just dropped off passengers at the final stop on his Bx5 route when he was cut by a person exiting the bus. The incident happened near Southern Boulevard and Westchester Avenue.

A woman who works at a nearby store called police at around 4 p.m. when she noticed the driver was bleeding.

The driver was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he is recovering.
