C.S. 211 students harvest school garden

THE BRONX - Students at C.S. 211 were all smiles today as they harvested vegetables that they planted three months ago.

The project, run by the New York Botanical Garden and funded by the City Council, enabled students to plant various vegetables in the parking lot behind their school and tend to them over the last few months.

The program was used to show students the rewards of gardening and eating healthy.

The New York Botanical Garden says the student garden is a four-year program and it hopes to expand it to other schools across the borough.
