Car crashes into C&C Market Research on East Avenue in Parkchester

Officials say eight people were injured, including five who are in serious but stable condition. (3/10/14)

Eight people were injured when a car smashed Parkchester Car Crash

THE BRONX - Eight people were hurt when a car smashed through the front of an office in Parkchester.

The vehicle came to a stop completely inside C&C Market Research at 1454 East Ave. The FDNY safely removed the car, which was leaking gasoline at the time. Debris, shattered glass, damaged office supplies and computers were swept aside as the Buildings Department inspected the integrity of the structure.

Officials say five people are in serious but stable condition, and three others suffered minor injuries. Some were taken to Jacobi Medical Center.

According to witnesses, the driver was trying to to back out of a parking spot when he flew forward into the building instead.

A C&C Market Research spokesperson says they're focused on making sure all employees are OK before figuring out how and where the business will operate.
