Police are searching for a man who stole a car with a child inside, who took off after briefly stopping to drop the child off

UNIONPORT - Police are searching for a man who stole a car with a child inside, who took off after briefly stopping to drop the child off on the curb.

According to witnesses, the incident happened around 10 this morning on Unionport Road near Metropolitan Oval. The toddler's father was inside a grocery store and the mother was loading groceries into the car's trunk when the suspect jumped into the black Chevrolet Trailblazer and drove off. A witness says the father ran out of the store and chased after the car, screaming. The witness says the suspect then stopped and took the toddler out of the car, placing him on the curb before driving off again.

Police are looking for a Hispanic male in his early 40s, last seen wearing a beige baseball hat and a red jacket.
