THE BRONX - Castle Hill residents are trying to get to the bottom of why it's taking so long to fix a growing sinkhole in their neighborhood.

The gaping hole in the pavement at Saint Raymond Avenue and Castle Road is near three schools. Parents say it's an accident waiting to happen with so many kids walking around the area.

Neighbors complain that the hole has been around for weeks, despite calls to 311 and promises that it would be filled in by now. Drivers are equally frustrated by the hole, saying it's not only a risk to their cars, but is also taking up a coveted parking spot.

News 12 reached out to the Departments of Transportation and Environmental Protection, but has not yet heard back.
