THE BRONX - ? Bronx high school students now have a new place to 'babysit' their phones. Students can take their cell phones and other electronic devices banned from school to private storage facilities parked outside the building where the employees will hold the items for a $1 fee.

For more than 15 years the Department of Education has prohibited students from bringing cell phones, beepers, iPods, or other electronic communication or entertainment devices to school. Students often attempt to sneak in phones or have local stores hold them.

Students say it's helpful to be able to retrieve the phones as soon as they leave school. Often, if a teacher finds a student sneaking in banned device it will be confiscated, according to students.
