Cement blocks nearly hit South Bronx residents

SOUTH BRONX - South Bronx residents say they were just seconds and a few feet away from being hit by cement blocks Thursday.

The incident happened in front of 830 E. 163rd St. near Prospect Avenue. The FDNY temporarily closed off a nearby bakery, nail salon and deli after the cement blocks came down.

The Department of Buildings says an engineer will determine the structural integrity of the building.
