According to new census numbers, the nation's poverty rate has hit an all-time high.The numbers show that a record 43.6 million people are in poverty

THE BRONX - According to new census numbers, the nation's poverty rate has hit an all-time high.

The numbers show that a record 43.6 million people are in poverty as of last year, which is up 14.3 percent from 2008. Some analysts are predicting the rate to climb to 16 percent over the next decade.
