Census workers make final push to return forms

THE BRONX - Census workers hit the streets today, urging Bronx residents to send in their completed census forms.

At West 225th Street and Broadway, U.S. Census Bureau employees handed out T-shirts, mugs and flags reminding people how important it is to be counted.

"The Census Bureau wants to help you make sure that these are mailed right away," says census worker Karen Rosciano.

As of now, the Bronx is lagging behind the national census form return rate of 65 percent. In some parts of the borough, less than half of the residents have mailed in their forms.

People have until April 16 to return their forms.
