Center for Urban Future: Bronx saw greatest small business growth in New York City from 1991-2011
THE BRONX - The Bronx is topping the list of places to be for New York City small business owners, according to a new report.
A study by the Center for Urban Future found that the Bronx had the most growth in small businesses between 1991 and 2011 out of all five of the boroughs. It says there was a 305-percent jump from 1,159 new businesses to 4,690.
Experts say that one reason the borough is a great choice for new mom-and-pop shops is because real estate prices are cheaper.
