Charity asks BX residents to donate shoes to the needy

THE BRONX - The group Save Our Shoes is asking Bronx residents to help those in need by donating their old shoes.

The charity will be in the area today, trying to fill up an 18-wheeler with 30,000 pairs of footwear, including loafers, sandals, boots and sneakers.

While some of the shoes will be sent overseas to countries like Haiti, a portion will also be distributed to the needy in The Bronx.

The all-day event will be making stops throughout the borough until 7 p.m. this evening. Share Our Shoes
