THE BRONX - A child was struck by a car at the intersection of Wallace and Arnow avenues yesterday.

The child's parents took him to Jacobi Medical Center to be checked out after witnesses say he was hit while riding his skateboard.

Last May, community activists told News 12 that speeding is a serious problem along Wallace Avenue and they want the Department of Transportation to do something about it. They say the department promised to rule on their proposal for speed bumps in September, but have not heard back.

The Department of Transportation claims that there is no record of a complaint being filed for that intersection.
