THE BRONX - A small congregation in the Bronx is carrying on a big tradition by spreading awareness about drug use and its effects in the borough.

Members of the Little Baptist Church took to East 138th Street for a march Saturday that aims to continue a 13-year tradition they say is their mission.

?We are not going to stand for drugs in our homes and in our families,? says Pastor Joseph Thigpee, an organizer of the event.

Many say there is more significance to the music and marching at the event than meets the eye.

?If the drugs don't get them, the gangs won?t get them - and we don't want to have them in jail,? says Bishop Randall Gillis.

Clergy members say going into the community is the best way to bring people out and inform them. They say it is the least the small church can do for the community.
