THE BRONX - After a lawyer allegedly swindled a Bronx church out of thousands of dollars, the pastor says he still managed to get the property that he planned to buy with that money.

Pastor Dexter Martinez says The Way to Heaven Church has recovered the $52,000 and plans to move to a larger location with the money.

Martinez says his old church had one floor to accommodate more than 100 congregants. Now, the new space is expected to be three levels and include a food pantry.

The pastor says he hopes to finish the move by next January.
