THE BRONX - Bronx residents bracing for Monday?s anticipated snowstorm got much less than they expected.

Meteorologists said that the cold air arrived later than expected and the storm moved through too quickly to leave the 5 to 7 inches of snow that some had predicted for the area. Instead, residents have had to deal with light rain and flurries.

The city was prepared to send out 2,000 snow plows and 365 salt spreaders to help ease the morning commute, but those plans became unnecessary.

Snow might still be on the way, though, with a storm expected to move through on Thursday and Friday. That system is expected to bring a mix of snow and rain. Meteorologists also predict temperatures will fall into the teens over the weekend.
