BEDFORD PARK - The city has cleaned up an abandoned home in Bedford Park, but is still trying to track down its owners.
The vacant house, located at 201st Street and Valentine Avenue, was filled with trash, hypodermic needles and other evidence left behind by squatters. The Department of Sanitation has since tidied up the property, but residents say it is still an eyesore.
The Department of Buildings says it has issued more than $34,000 in fines to the owner, Lynwood Acquisitions, over the last three years.
Meanwhile, someone who supplied a mortgage to the owners says they had planned to build a nine-story condo complex on the lot, but the plans fell through.
