City Island gears up for Irene

CITY ISLAND - City Island is preparing for Hurricane Irene, and boat owners are not taking any chances, many checking their boats to see if they're ready.

Sailmaker Marina owner Paul Laddomada says about six boats have already left, but another 20 are still at the marina. He's asking customers to tie their boats down.

At Connie's New Way Supermarket on CI Avenue, a few people have stopped in to stock up for Irene. Still others are enjoying some time outside today, until they are asked to go inside.
