CITY ISLAND - City Island residents are fighting a waterfront apartment complex that is expected to be built early next year.
The 32-unit complex would go up on a plot of land at the end of Marine Street. Each apartment is expected to sell from $500,000 to $1 million. Local residents say the apartments would never sell at those prices and force the owner to rent the apartments or turn the complex into low-income housing.
The development company, GBG Incorportated, says it plans to work with residents to find a compromise.
