CITY ISLAND - City Island residents sounded off Monday night regarding the plan to build a brand new bridge connecting them to the main land of the Bronx.
The meeting held at P.S. 175 was held to discuss the plan to replace the current bridge with a modern 150-foot tall structure.
During the public comment session, residents said there has been a lack of public input allowed by the city’s Department of Transportation.

The DOT says it's made changes several times because of resident concerns and that the project is definitely moving forward. There is what's called an official notice to proceed scheduled for Sept. 30.
The project is slated to take about three and a half years.
