City launches plan to improve walkways, bike routes

THE BRONX - The city is planning to improve pedestrian walkways and bike routes in Hunts Point and Longwood.

The Department of Transportation says it is focusing on Randall, Leggett and Tiffany avenues in Hunts Point. It plans to add bike lanes, left-turn bays and pedestrian islands.

Residents say they welcome the change.

Some of the new changes should be in place by June, according to the DOT.
