THE BRONX - City officials have released a list of the 10 landlords who allow elevators to remain in disrepair for long periods of time, five of whom are in the Bronx.

The city says it will begin to crack down on the worst offenders by imposing stiffer penalties and requiring that elevator-repair work be done by an approved maintenance company.

The landlords will also be required to fix their elevators within 45 days.
