The holidays could get a bit more expensive for anyone who dumps a decorated Christmas tree. The Department of Sanitation wants to issue $100 fines

THE BRONX - The holidays could get a bit more expensive for anyone who dumps a decorated Christmas tree.

The Department of Sanitation wants to issue $100 fines because it says mulching trees with decorations still on increases the cost.

Officials will hold a public hearing on the proposal April 18.
