Cleanup continues in Van Cortlandt Park

THE BRONX - After two major storms hit the area in the last few weeks, more than 2,000 trees have been damaged in the Bronx.

The forest restoration staff is now working hard to fix Van Cortlandt Park around Mosholu Parkway.

Overall, residents say they are happy with the effort to clean up the park and that they are more worried about the tree branches that were loosened but didn?t fall during the recent storms than those that did.

Friends of Van Cortlandt Park say it plans to replant trees this summer.
