THE BRONX - Both sides presented closing arguments Tuesday in the murder trial of a Bronx woman accused of killing her two children.

Lisette Bamenga chose to go to trial without a jury, so after three weeks in court, the decision will be made by the judge.

Prosecutors accuse Bamenga of deliberately poisoning and drowning her 4-year-old son and 4-month-old daughter on July 5, 2012. They say she did it after learning that their father, Trevor Noel, had a child with another woman.

The defense is seeking an acquittal or not guilty verdict, citing extreme emotional disturbance. Bamenga's lawyer has argued that she was suffering from "post-partum psychosis."

The judge is scheduled to make a decision by Friday at 9 a.m.

If found guilty, Bamenga, a former school teacher, faces up to life in prison.
