Clothesline project gives voice to abuse victims

THE BRONX - Survivors of domestic violence are being honored at the 14th Annual Bronx Clothesline Project at the Bronx Museum of the Arts.

Organizers of the event hung T-shirts covered in messages about the consequences of crime, from sexual abuse to gun violence. In addition, counseling booths are set up so victims of violence can seek help.

Events will continue through the week at the museum. Organizers say bringing the issue to light allows victims to empower themselves.
