Co-op City residents fuming over MTA service cuts

CO-OP CITY - Residents of Co-op City say they are furious with the MTA over service cuts that have gone into effect due to its budget deficit.

Residents say since the Bx28 and Bx26 routes were cut and replaced with the Bx38 bus line, service in the area has been horrendous.

They claim parts of Co-op City have been cut off completely and those areas that haven't are seeing delays of anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes for a bus to come by.

Some residents say they have formed a coalition against the service cuts and are conducting a survey to let the MTA know how residents feel about the changes.
