‘Comedy Girls’ call on Saturday Night Live to include Latina comedians

The Bronx comic duo launched a YouTube video calling for more diversity on the show.

THE BRONX - Two Puerto Rican jokesters from the Bronx are taking a stand to get more Latina comics on TV.

Jenni Ruiza and Jesenia represent the "Comedy Girls," and they say it's long overdue for a Latina woman to be a part of Saturday Night Live.

The funny duo launched a public service announcement that calls attention to the fact that there hasn't been a Latina cast member on the show or on its writing staff since it started 39 years ago.

The Comedy Girls are hoping their YouTube video, "Latino Stereotypes for Dummies," and the hashtag "Still No Latinas" will go viral, forcing SNL to make more diverse hiring choices that include their ethnicity.
