THE BRONX - Community Board Six says it is considering closing bathrooms inside Bronx parks after dark with the hope that it will bring down crime in the area.

This comes after police say a man with a gun locked himself inside of the River Park men's bathroom last weekend.

Every city park is supposed to close at dusk and the Parks Department says it has staff members who lock up the bathrooms after 4 p.m. However, residents say the bathrooms are never locked up.

The Community Board and the Parks Department are expected to take up the issue at their next monthly meeting.
