THE BRONX - A group of Bronx residents is stepping up its fight to reopen a shuttered 74-year-old theater.

The local chapter of the National Action Network is teaming up with community organizers to get the Bow Tie Theater on East Avenue in Parkchester up and running again.

The organization has submitted evaluations of the theater to the Landmark Preservation Committee and has already gathered more than 1,000 paper signatures, as well as more than 800 online.

The theater was closed late last year.
