THE BRONX - A Bronx community leader is taking a hands-on approach to improve living conditions for area tenants.

Community Board 11 District Manager Jeremy Warneke says he'll be making monthly visits with an inspector from the Buildings Department to properties that have several known violations.

Warneke began touring apartments last month, including 2055 Cruger Ave. He says he's already noticed five apparently illegal basement apartments.
